Granary Light
Granary ~ Mission San José, San Antonio, Texas |
When I finally found my way out of the mission courtyard into the darker interior spaces, this room took my breath away. I stood there alone for the longest time just looking at the light and feeling the immense room envelop me while the single wooden table stood in silence. I just stood there.
I'm grateful once again, because without my tripod I could only hope that I might capture the image as cleanly as possible. I added a bit of grit by using a scratched overlay from Kim Klassen to get a more moody feel to the image. I love the simplicity of this place.

Oh yes - one of my favorite places at the missions. Those immensity of the curved walls and ceiling. The beautifully painted arches. And oh, the light! You have captured all these features wonderfully along with the emotional essence of the silence and peace there. The contrast of light here are stunning.
