Liberate Your Art 2017 ~ Side Swap

Here we are at the end of Liberate Your Art 2017. I do look forward to sharing something I've created during the year in the form of a postcard...sent out randomly looking for a new home. As postcards arrive at my home, in my neck of the woods, I welcome them like old friends and I try to take them to places they may not have ever seen and photograph them there. I hope the artists who sent their postcards out into the world get to see a glimpse of where they landed.

As things wind up and everyday life takes over, I'm afraid I'm unable to take the beautiful side swap postcards out and about to photograph them, but here they are in all their glory...the photo taken on a little table in my workroom inside a frame my daughter gave me.

The postcard top left is from Sheila Delgado. I've admired her artwork for such a long time and I'm thrilled to have one of her postcards. Thank you Sheila and I will continue to share my art.

Top right is a postcard from Patsy Lawrence. I love abstract images and this one is fabulous. She says the image is acrylics and oil pastels in an altered photography book. Wonderful idea. I may try it as I'd love to branch out to mixed media work and it might help me learn to trust putting my hand to paper. Thank you Patsy.

The postcard center top is from Louise Mamet. I've always hoped to receive a postcard from another country and I finally got one. The photo is of a roof from an old house in Montreal, Canada. I love all the angles and turrets never mind the fabulous shade of blue. Thank you Louise. In something of yours I read you talked about friendship. That's one of the things I like best about Kat Sloma's project...meeting new people and beginning new friendships.

Sort of underneath on the left is a postcard from Jeannette Knower. I'm a fan of her work and I was lucky enough to receive one of her postcards last year. The photo shows a view through beautiful Magnolias on the Oregon State University campus. She says her favorite thing is to wander with her camera. I don't do that enough, but I can imagine how peaceful that must be. Thank you Jeannette. I'll continue enjoying your work through Facebook!

Center right is another fabulous abstract image. This postcard is from Terry Owenby. She said this image is a resurrected painting from a class she took with Jesse Reno (Art & Soul) and she cropped the painting down and used for her postcard. I love the vibrant colors and what a wonderful idea. There are so many fun ways to share the things we've created. Thank you so much Terry.

The postcard bottom left is from Sherry Harmes. She wrote, "Conceive, Believe, Achieve!!!" on the back of her postcard. Perfect! We all should post that quote somewhere. I love how the bird looks as though it's flying over the landscape and through the bird you can see the mountains and bay of Larsen Bay, Alaska. The other thing I love about Sherry's postcards is she always includes the temperature, the height of the sea, and the wind speed at the bottom of her postcards. Thank you Sherry. I've received one of your cards before...thrilled to get another one.

Last but not least is a postcard from Christine Brooks. The photo is of the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. Christine wrote, "Make time to enjoy the beauties of this world." I'm so grateful that through the postcard swap we can see things we may otherwise never see. This is a beautiful postcard.Thank you Christine for taking me to the Sea of Cortez.

Take care one and all until next time we meet. As I sign off I'm a bit saddened to say farewell for now, but we'll keep in touch.

If Peace is our vision...Let us begin!
